I recognized Reichs and Grisham, of course, and wondered how many of the others write novels for adults as well. Looks like 3 of the five, with Lee and LaFevers dedicated to YA/Children's.
ReplyDeleteNot that it matters, I guess. Just one of those "I wonder" things. Now I'll go check out the other nominees.
Sometimes I wish that adult crime writers would just back off writing for children. It seems too calculating or something. That parents would pick up their books for name recognition. But maybe they are terrific, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteActually, they're usually not so great--your instinct is right, Patti. It takes skill to not talk TO a kid, but sit down next to him/her and get what that view is like.
