Sometimes (well, actually very often) someone else says it so much better, and I just say: "what (s)he said."

April snuck up on me like a thief in the night! I’ve been so busy writing, editing, and coming up with ideas for Daybreak on Raven Island...
I am always shocked to find I still pepper everything with adverbs and adjectives. It just feels right in that first draft to say, "she said haltingly."
